My Coaching Philosophy
My coaching framework bridges the gap between sports science and the realities of your daily life. Because every athlete is unique, I build individualized programs centered around three foundational pillars:The Power of Consistency: Speed and endurance are built over months and years, not weeks. I design sustainable training progressions that optimize your recovery, protect your health, and keep you moving forward.The Resilience to Persevere: Training isn't always linear, and life happens. I am here to help you navigate setbacks, pivot when necessary, and develop the mindset required to stay confident throughout your training cycles.Joy in the Process: Hard work and happiness can coexist. My ultimate goal is to keep your training engaging, rewarding, and fulfilling so you can run happy, healthy, and at your absolute best.
From the Roads to Coaching
My passion for coaching is forged from my own journey on the roads. I took up running in my early 30s, crossing the finish line of my very first marathon in four hours. The true turning point in my training came when I started working with a coach. Under proper structure, guidance, and individualized programming, my performance improved significantly—ultimately leading me to break the three-hour barrier in the marathon at age 41.Today, I have completed 29 marathons, alongside countless half marathons and 10ks. Over the course of my running journey, I’ve had the privilege of testing myself against the best, competing on elite fields at races like the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Vancouver Marathon, and the Canadian National Championships—in both the 10k and the marathon. I know exactly what it takes to train with intention, manage dedicated training cycles, and build the psychological toughness needed to persevere on race day.It brings me immense joy to share what I’ve learned about this beautiful sport and to help others achieve their own goals.You don’t need to be an elite runner to train with purpose. I bring that exact same focus, knowledge, and structured approach to your training. My goal is to help you achieve exactly what you set out to do, and most importantly, to ensure you find real joy in the process!
